Sewing my summer wardrobe for Europe ☀️

It was a bit of a whirlwind, but I’m so glad I made the time to sew myself a summer wardrobe before heading off to Europe. I’d been feeling pretty uninspired by the clothes in my cupboard. I hardly ever buy new things – I always have this little voice reminding me, “You could just make it yourself.” So I usually end up talking myself out of shopping altogether.

But there’s something special about wearing clothes I’ve made with my own hands – they feel more meaningful, more me. So instead of buying a bunch of new outfits, I picked out a few patterns, bought some fabric, and got sewing.

By the time you get this, I’ll be in Italy, sipping on an Aperol Spritz, wearing my new handmade clothes. 😉

Each piece was thoughtfully chosen to mix and match and travel easily, with comfort and versatility at the heart of it all.

I’m especially excited to wear this two-piece daisy set, made using the Tudor Blouse and the Bottle Brush Pants patterns (links below). This was my first time sewing in a zipper fly, too! I’m so happy with the result!

In my latest YouTube video, I walk you through all the pieces I made, the patterns I used, and why I chose them. If you’ve ever dreamed of creating your own handmade holiday wardrobe, I hope this gives you a spark of inspiration to start planning your own.

Here are the patterns I mentioned in the video:

Common Stitch:

Pipit Vest

Bottlebrush Shorts & Pants

Bellbird Shorts

Stitch Witch Patterns:

Tudor Blouse (Wrap Version)

Tammy Handmade:

I’d love to know – have you ever sewn something specifically for a trip? Which piece from this wardrobe is your favourite?

Thanks so much for reading and watching.
