Kids’ Levi’s Jacket Refashion with Patchwork + Hand Embroidery 🌼

Lately, I’ve been thinking a lot about the clothes we already own – or find second-hand – and how much potential they hold. With a little creativity and time, something old and unworn can be transformed into something new, re-loved, and proudly worn.

In my latest YouTube video, I refashion a kids’ Levi’s denim jacket I found and purchased from Facebook Marketplace. I add a colourful retro floral patchwork panel to the back and hand embroider delicate little flowers on the front. It’s such a joyful and mindful sewing project to try.

I walk through every step of the process:

– Choosing the fabrics

– Planning the colour placement

– Sewing the patchwork

– And adding those finishing touches with embroidery 🌸

This is a great DIY project that’s perfect if you’ve got a jacket lying around that’s in need of a fresh start. It’s also a lovely way to use up your fabric scraps and play with your creativity without any pressure.

Here’s what you’ll need if you want to make your own version:

✿ A denim jacket (mine’s a second-hand kids’ Levi’s)

✿ Cotton scraps in your favourite prints

✿ Embroidery thread + needle

✿ Fabric scissors, matching thread, ruler, pins, iron, and a sewing machine

Check it out if you’re keen to give it a try! 🤗✂️

I hope this video inspires you to refashion something you already have, or to look at your wardrobe with fresh eyes.
