A Fun DIY Project: Colourful Patchwork Wall Hanging 🧵

I’ve always loved finding ways to use up fabric scraps, and my latest sewing project was the perfect opportunity! This week, I made a patchwork wall hanging using pieces from my stash, turning leftover fabric into something decorative and meaningful.

I’m working hard to find thrifty ways to use what I have in my craft cupboard and after sorting out my fabric stash recently, I’m now finding it so much easier to act quickly on my sewing projects and sink into the creative flow.

In my third YouTube video: What’s in my sewing boxes? I mentioned that the wall in my background was rather bare. So in this week’s video, I decided to share behind the scenes of creating a wall hanging to brighten up the space a bit.

There’s something so satisfying about slow sewing – piecing each fabric square together, playing with colours and textures, and then adding hand-stitched details to bring it all to life. It’s a creative process that feels meditative, allowing space for me to slow down and be present.

I filmed the entire process, so if you’d like to see how I made it (and maybe get inspired to make your own!), you can watch it here. 🎥💛

When you make crafty projects, do you try to use what you already have? I’d love to hear your creative ideas! Let me know in the comments on the video!

If you like sewing or seeing other creatives on the internet share the process of their work, I encourage you to say 👋 and subscribe to my new YouTube channel. ☺️

Thanks for reading!

Take care,
