A fresh start in my new sewing room 🧵✨
Recently, we moved into a new home, and for the first time ever, I have a dedicated sewing room!
I cannot express how grateful I am to finally have my own creative space.
I’ve worked on sewing projects at the dining table, on the couch, and in tiny corners of shared spaces for a decade now. So unpacking this new room has felt like a big moment for me. A fresh start. A little dream come true.
In my latest YouTube video, I take you through part 1 of the setup – clearing the floor, unpacking boxes, arranging things, and starting to envision how I’d like this space to look and feel.
Just a day after we moved everything into the new place, we flew overseas to visit family, which meant I had to quickly dump everything in the room, close the door, and leave it all until we got back.
Now that we’re back, I’m really excited to set it up and see how it all comes together! 😁💫

There’s still furniture to get, like a second table and some shelves for my fabric, and a few odd bits to make it feel more like me. But even just getting started has felt so good!
I share a few ideas I have for the space (like creating a curtain and organising my supplies), and if you have any sewing/craft room tips or setup ideas, I’d really love to hear them. Feel free to share in the comments over on YouTube!
You can watch part 1 of the video here:

(Feel free to subscribe if you want to follow along – part 2 will be up sometime soon, once I have what I need to complete the space ☺️).
Thanks for reading and following along, and letting me share these small, meaningful creative wins with you.
It’s so easy to rush past them, but I want to keep honouring the slow and steady creative shifts that are happening in my life.
What creative things are you working on right now? How do you set up your creative space, whether you have a dedicated room or a corner of your home? I’d love to know!
Take care,
Lauren 🌸
